A Collaboration in Vision and Verse: Marchelle Farrell & Sandra Freij

The first in an ongoing collaboration with artists, writers, and creatives to explore the emotional and imaginative landscapes of our future.

The Story

As part of a new direction for DearTomorrow, we invited author and psychotherapist Marchelle Farrell to delve into the future and respond with an original piece of writing.

The Outcome

‘Plant the Seed’ is an ode to a millennium of tomorrows. A call to disintegrate the structures that hold us back, and to grow a new way of being from their compost. A love letter to nature, and an emotional eulogy for the world we stand to lose.

To accompany this work, filmmaker and photographer Sandra Freij brought her unique visual storytelling to the project, interpreting the poem through film in a poetic, atmospheric response.

The Impact

Together, their collaboration becomes a quiet, powerful meditation—blending word and image—to ask how we might hold hope, memory, and care for what lies ahead.

May this story, like the seeds we plant, grow into something lasting: for tomorrow, and for all the tomorrows yet to come.
